St. James Church, Avebury
30 minute solo performance drawn from The Song of Songs followed by a brief talk and q&a on Butoh, medieval mystical choreography and Kazuo Ohno's Christianity in commemoration of 10 years of the perpetual Hiroshima Peace Flame at St. James.
This performance was part of a programme of events taking place at St. James in celebration
of the flame at Solstice, throughout the day on the Saturday alongside me were
poets, storytellers and musicians including friends Alice Ancient and The Butterfly Wheel and
Ashley Ramsden, founder of the School of Storytelling.
On the Sunday there was a commemoration ceremony for the flame, a Celtic-Christian sound journey with Fiona MacArthur followed by a Holy Grail Eucharist at St James.
